Reflections on 2024 (Pt. 1 of 3): Accomplishments

This will be the first of 3 posts.

Looking back on 2024, I see that, like most things in life, this year was a mixed bag. There were a lot of accomplishments, a lot of learning and growth, but also some hardship and challenges. I would like to begin this reflection with a celebration of all that I have accomplished, because it is important to remember the good.

This year I:

  • Attended, and passed SERE school.
  • Graduated a 2.5 year training pipeline for the Army.
  • Joined an airborne unit.
  • Raced a 10k.
  • Biked 100 miles to the beach with a friend.
  • Won a local work/charity 5k.
  • Did a sprint triathlon relay with Kelsey and placed 3rd.
  • Went on 4 vacations and climbed multiple mountains.
  • Took 1st place for all graded rucks and runs at work.
  • Jumped out of an airplane a few more times.
  • Joined a BJJ gym and learned a few things.
  • Studied hard and improved my Russian OPI score to a 2+/2+.
  • Started Graduate school and completed my first course.

And in all of this, grew closer to Kelsey and Wally. We continue to build a life together one day at a time. I have so much to be proud of, and I hope I continue this momentum next year.
