Reflections on 2024 (Pt. 1 of 3): Accomplishments
This will be the first of 3 posts.
Looking back on 2024, I see that, like most things in life, this year was a mixed bag. There were a lot of accomplishments, a lot of learning and growth, but also some hardship and challenges. I would like to begin this reflection with a celebration of all that I have accomplished, because it is important to remember the good.
This year I:
- Attended, and passed SERE school.
- Graduated a 2.5 year training pipeline for the Army.
- Joined an airborne unit.
- Raced a 10k.
- Biked 100 miles to the beach with a friend.
- Won a local work/charity 5k.
- Did a sprint triathlon relay with Kelsey and placed 3rd.
- Went on 4 vacations and climbed multiple mountains.
- Took 1st place for all graded rucks and runs at work.
- Jumped out of an airplane a few more times.
- Joined a BJJ gym and learned a few things.
- Studied hard and improved my Russian OPI score to a 2+/2+.
- Started Graduate school and completed my first course.
And in all of this, grew closer to Kelsey and Wally. We continue to build a life together one day at a time. I have so much to be proud of, and I hope I continue this momentum next year.
