Delight
A bit of parchment in the old and damp
Dingy desk
Delights the poet.
A bit of pavement underneath the tried and true
Tire tread
Transports this reliable bicycle.
A bit of peace in this borrowed breath
Brings boundless
Bliss to this bitter battle.
A bit of presence in this moody and mundane
Mucked-up modern life
Moves the heart to gratitude.
A bit of pride in the eyes of a
Lovely lover
Lights the heart-fire of life-delight.
-The Poet of Windy Blue
This poem is a reflection of appreciation for the little things in life. After all it’s the little things that make up our entire life. Brief moments that add up to a lifetime. This life can be hard. Very hard. So, it is important to find the small things that bring us joy. That bring us peace. We need these things to prevent us from falling into patterns of bitterness or despair. How will you find some peace today?
